Cherry BBQ Sauce Recipe

1x 2x 3x Ingredients
3 C ups Seal the Seasons NY Tart Cherries
3 Tbsp olive oil
2 C loves garlic, minced
1 O nion, diced
1 1/2 C ups ketchup
2/3 C up brown sugar
1/4 C up apple cider vinegar
1 Shot ( 2 o z) H oney W hiskey (optional)
3 Tbsp. water
2 Tbsp. ground mustard
1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 Tsp. cayenne pepper
S alt and pepper to taste
STEP 1: Thaw and drain Seal the Seasons frozen cherries .
STEP 2: Heat olive oil in sauce pan and saute onion and garlic over medium heat until soft and fragrant .
STEP 3: Add the ketchup, brown sugar , apple cider vinegar, whiskey, water, ground mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and cayenne pepper . Stir and bring mixture to a simmer .
STEP 4: Add the cherries and salt and pepper to taste. C ontinue to cook over low heat for 20 minutes, or until sauce thickens .
STEP 5: Once thickened, remove sauce from heat and puree in food processor until smooth.
STEP 6: Let cool and enjoy!
