THE FOOD BANK OF CENTRAL & EASTERN NC

Our partnership with the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina was born from acts of generosity, collaboration, and a desire to improve lives in our community. The Food Bank had received a large donation of sweet potatoes from a local famer, John Bone of Bone Farms, a family farm in Nashville, NC. Looking for a way to make the produce available to its local agencies, the Food Bank reached out us – and we couldn’t have been happier to help.

Our first effort was to create co-branded, recyclable packaging for the donated sweet potatoes. But we wanted to do more – so we brought in our partners at Berry Cold, a family-run processing facility in Eastern NC. Together, we facilitated a local Blueberry product to add to the Food Bank’s produce distribution.

The Food Bank works with local organizations every day to help put an end to hunger in the state of North Carolina. Through an intricate network of over 900 partner agencies, such as homeless shelters, soup kitchens, and private businesses, The Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC works to nourish people, build solutions, and empower communities. Seal the Seasons believes that our local food system is an integral part of community empowerment and we are proud to be part of the work they are doing.

In 34 counties across Central and Eastern North Carolina, residents of the state face food insecurity or outright hunger. Serving these residents for over 40 years, The Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC is ranked as one of the top 15 food banks nationwide. They are also a member of the nation’s largest domestic hunger relief charity, Feeding America.
